Privacy Policy – Eczemine

Summary

Eczemine stores your data either locally on your device or, if you choose to log in, securely in your private Firebase account. The developer does not access, collect, sell, or share your personal information. User-entered logs—including meals, allergies, body-map reactions, stitched reaction images, symptoms, medications, and mood levels—remain private to your device or your family group (if you enable family sharing).

Data We Process

Meal and reaction logs: Foods eaten, ingredients, symptoms, allergies, medication usage, body-map selections, and mood/itch/rash sliders.
Reaction images: Photos you optionally take using your device camera. These images are stitched into one combined image, converted to Base64, and stored only inside your own encrypted Firebase database. Images are never transmitted to the developer or third parties.
Family sharing data: If you choose to join or create a family group, your logs are shared privately only with the members you explicitly add. Data is never visible outside your family group.
Authentication: If using the cloud version, Firebase Authentication stores your email and manages secure sign-ins. The developer does not receive or store your credentials.
No analytics or tracking: The App does not collect behavioral analytics, usage tracking, advertising IDs, crash data, or device identifiers.

Camera & Image Processing

The App may request access to your device camera for the sole purpose of capturing reaction photos. Images are:

Captured only when you choose to take a photo.
Processed locally to create a single stitched image.
Stored as Base64 text inside your own Firebase entry, tied to a specific date and meal.
Never uploaded to external servers other than your private Firebase project.
Never accessed by the developer.

Cloud Storage (Optional)

Eczemine supports optional cloud syncing using Firebase Firestore and Firebase Authentication. When enabled:

Your logs are stored in your private Firebase user account.
Your family admin may view data for members of your private family group.
All data is fully under Google Firebase’s security and encryption systems.
No data is visible to the developer.

Third-Party Services

Eczemine uses the following services strictly for core functionality:

Firebase Authentication: For secure user sign-in.
Cloud Firestore: For syncing your logs across devices or family accounts.
No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are used.

Google Play may process basic device-level diagnostics as described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Permissions

CAMERA: Used only when you choose to take reaction photos. Images are not shared outside your device or your Firebase account.
INTERNET: Required for Firebase syncing and external links.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Used only when selecting images from your gallery; no scanning or background access occurs.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy Android): Used only when saving processed images on older devices.
VIBRATE: For optional haptic feedback.

Children’s Privacy

Eczemine does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Only anonymized meal and reaction data is stored.

Data Retention

Data remains stored either on your device or in your Firebase account until you delete it manually or uninstall the App. The developer does not store or retain any user information.

Your Choices

Use the App offline without an account (local storage only).
Choose to sync via Firebase for backup or family sharing.
Delete individual logs, reaction photos, or your entire local or cloud data.
Uninstall the App at any time to remove all local data.

Security

Firestore and Authentication are fully managed by Google Firebase and provide industry-grade encryption. Local data remains on your device and is protected by your device’s security settings. The developer has no access to your dataset.

Changes to This Policy

This policy will be updated when new features involving additional permissions, cloud options, or integrations are added. The effective date will always reflect the latest revision.
